Mayor’s Backpack Giveaway

8 a.m. until supplies last, at Earl Brown Park, 751 S. Alabama Ave., DeLand. The backpacks will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis, so parents and children will want to come early. There will be about 1,000 available. Those waiting in line will receive one voucher ticket per student to ensure they receive a backpack. After backpacks are given out, parents and children will be able to visit other vendors giving out various school supplies near the Earl Brown Park amphitheater. Free.
