Out and About: Morse Museum of American Art

9 a.m. meet at the Conrad Center parking lot, 137 W. Michigan Ave., DeLand. 10 a.m. leave on SunRail from the DeBary Station, 630 S. Charles Richard Beall Blvd., to the Morse Museum of American Art in Winter Park. SunRail round-trip tickets cost $3.75 for seniors and $7.50 for adults. Hosted by the West Volusia Historical Society. The Morse Museum houses the world’s most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933), including the artist and designer’s jewelry, pottery, paintings, art glass, leaded-glass lamps and windows; his chapel interior from the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago; and art and architectural objects from his Long Island country estate, Laurelton Hall. The museum’s holdings also include American art pottery, late-19th- and early-20th-century American paintings, graphics and decorative art. Admission to the museum is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors. The group will walk a couple of blocks to George’s Cafe for lunch. George’s features homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and gourmet cookies. The group will return to DeLand via SunRail to DeBary and carpool back to the Conrad Center. Anticipated return to DeLand is 3:30-4 p.m. Reservations are required. Call 386-740-6813.
