Parlor Chat: Louis Peace and Mary Ann Thursby

11 a.m. at the DeLand House Museum, 137 W. Michigan Ave., DeLand. Portrayed by Stanton O’Neal and Cheryl Floyd, the Thursbys were Blue Spring’s first permanent settlers. Louis, his wife Mary Ann and infant daughter Mary Alice arrived in 1856 from Brooklyn, New York, by way of steamboat from Jacksonville. They purchased 133 acres and a three-room log cabin for $400.
