Public Meeting on Disaster and Floodplain Management Plans

November 25 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

5:30 p.m. at the DeLand Regional Library, 130 E. Howry Ave. Originally planned in October, but rescheduled due to Hurricane Milton, this meeting will gather resident input on potential updates to the Local Mitigation Strategy Plan, which aims to reduce disaster risks, and the Floodplain Management Plan, which focuses on minimizing flood risks and enhancing resilience. Staff will review existing plans, explain the update process, answer questions and gather public feedback. Presentation materials will be available at www.volusia.org/emergency Wednesday, Nov. 27, along with separate flood-related surveys for private residents, businesses and homeowners associations.
