Star Trek & American Ethics

Part of the Volusia Reads Together program, based on the sci-fi novel Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Stetson professor Megan O’Neill will discuss the hope and history of Star Trek, the enormously popular and influential television and movie series. Starting from the creative days in 1966, the discussion moves through Gene Roddenberry’s vision of a future that is liberal, oriented toward American social justice, and culturally and ethnically diverse.
