Photographer and author Bibi LeBlanc has released the first in a series of adult coloring books that focus on cities around the globe.
The books are inspired by beautiful historic sites found throughout her travel adventures, as well as those close to home in DeLand, which is the subject of the first book in the series.
LeBlanc took her own scenery-inspired photographs and turned them into Zentangle coloring pages that include DeLand-area landmarks like the Historic Courthouse and must-see places like the Old Spanish Sugar Mill restaurant at DeLeon Springs State Park. Each page includes a bit of history about the landmark or image.
The coloring books may be purchased at Muse Book shop, Destinations, Family Bookstore, Campus Grounds Coffee, Dick & Jane’s, Chica’s Cafe Reptile Discovery Center, Office Depot, Beehive Salon, Skydive DeLand, Glenwood Post Office, West Volusia Historical Society and Boston Coffeehouse.
LeBlanc invites those who use the book to share their colored masterpieces with www.CulturetoColor.com, to be featured on LeBlanc’s website and social-media feeds.
The West Volusia Tourism Advertising Authority has also published a coloring book whose pages are local scenes, in cooperation with DeLand artist Erica Group.
While LeBlanc’s book mostly features scenes of DeLand, Group’s cuts a wider swath through West Volusia.
Group is the artist who painted the #DeLandWings and four other wings murals around West Volusia. She is currently serving as the Tourism Advertising Authority’s artist-in-residence.
LeBlanc is selling her coloring book at her website, www.CulturetoColor.com, for $12.95. The book is available in some Downtown DeLand shops.
Group’s books are available at South of New York Market and Pretty Little Things in Downtown DeLand, and also through her website, erica.group. The price is $10.
