DEBARY, FL. – Help A Diabetic Child Foundation, a not-for-profit public charity dedicated to helping families and individuals who are dealing with diabetes, will host “A Cause Before the Cure” Golf Tournament on Friday, June 18th at DeBary Golf & Country Club, 300 Plantation Club Dr. All proceeds go to help underserved children who have Type 1 diabetes and cannot afford their lifesaving insulin and diabetes medical supplies.
“The rising cost of insulin has made it more difficult for us to provide local diabetic kids with the supplies they require,” said Tami Balavage, Founder/President for Help A Diabetic Child Foundation. “We hope that this event will enable us to continue to assist those many children and families who, through no fault of their own, are left behind.”
For the event to be a success, Help A Diabetic Child Foundation is seeking community support with players and sponsors. The cost to participate as a player is $75 per person. A wide range of sponsorships with a variety of benefits are currently available, from just $500 to $10,000. Food and refreshments will be included before and after play concludes.
In addition, Charity Golf International’s World Long Drive Golf Professional will be on hand during the golf tournament to entertain participants on a Par 5 hole with 400-yard drives and unbelievable trick shots. Each team will have the opportunity to play their Pro’s shot to improve their score. Even better, each team will have the opportunity to participate in their hole-in-two contest, potentially winning a golf trip of a lifetime.
