Stars and Stripes, the U.S. military’s newspaper, reported that these are the names of the 13 U.S. service members killed Aug. 26 in a terrorist attack in Afghanistan:

• Sgt. Nicole Gee, 23, of California

• Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover, 31, of Utah

• Staff Sgt. Ryan Knauss, 23, of Tennessee

• Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum, 20, of Wyoming

• Cpl. Hunter Lopez, 22, of California

• Lance Cpl. Dylan R. Merola, 20, of California

• Lance Cpl. Kareem Nikoui, 20, of California

• Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo, 25, of Massachusetts

• Cpl. Humberto Sanchez, 22, of Indiana

• Cpl. Daegan William-Tyeler Page, 23, of Nebraska

• Lance Cpl. Jared Schmitz, 20, of Missouri

• Seaman Maxton “Max” Soviak, 22, of Ohio
