Due to severe weather, the redistricting meeting scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. today will be delayed until 6:30 p.m.
The Volusia County Council and Volusia County School Board will meet to review proposed maps for their districts in the first-floor training room of the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center, 123 W. Indiana Ave., DeLand.
Several versions of proposed maps have been drawn by the agencies’ geographical information systems teams to ensure that redrawn districts are compact, contiguous and as close in population as possible while preserving communities of interest.
The County Council and School Board will adopt new district boundaries by December 2021.
