PHOTO COURTESY CONSORTIUM OF FLORIDA EDUCATION FOUNDATIONS RECEIVING THE AWARD — Here are Linda Cuthbert, a member of the Volusia County School Board, left, and Jennifer Vigne, president and CEO of the Education Foundation of Sarasota County and the Consortium’s membership chair.

Volusia County School Board Member Linda Cuthbert was among two statewide school-district leaders in Florida recognized for their exemplary leadership by the Consortium of Florida Education Foundations.

The awards were handed out at the 76th annual Joint Conference of the Florida School Boards Association and the Florida Association of District School Superintendents Dec. 1 in Tampa.

Local education foundation leaders from throughout the state nominate their superintendents and school board members for the annual awards for their leadership and involvement.

“Volusia County has been extremely fortunate to have Ms. Cuthbert and her tireless leadership and talent for more than thirty years as an educator and now school board member,” said Heather Bond Vargas, FUTURES Foundation board president, in her recommendation letter. “She is a star and the world should know it!”

The Consortium of Florida Education Foundations, established in 1987, is the membership organization for Florida’s school-districtwide local education foundations.
