Gov. Ron DeSantis

Earlier this month, Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency in 30 counties, including Volusia, as a result of the freezing temperatures that occurred during the weekend of Jan. 28-29.

The executive order directed state agencies to respond to the emergency and allowed certain size and weight restrictions to be waived in order to quickly transport emergency equipment, supplies, personnel or agricultural food commodities and citrus.

Agricultural businesses in Volusia County impacted by the weather event are encouraged to complete the survey at floridadisaster.biz/BusinessDamageAssessments.

Results from this survey will be shared with various federal, state and local agencies to implement appropriate relief.
