The board of directors of The Arc of Volusia has welcomed Heather Haroldson of Daytona Beach as its new chief executive officer.

Haroldson comes to The Arc after 18 years at SMA Healthcare, where she served as the senior director of case management.

“The board conducted a national search for the new CEO position,” said Deborah Quackenbush, chairman of the board. “Our search led us to an outstanding talent right here in Volusia County, and we are thrilled that Ms. Haroldson accepted the position and look forward to her leading The Arc of Volusia into the future.”

Haroldson feels her connections within the community and her professional experience will benefit The Arc immensely. She has 25 years of human- and social-services experience and a master’s degree in health care administration from Ashford University.

Haroldson has been a resident of Volusia County since 2003, has three children, and enjoys singing, reading, knitting and art.
