West Volusia Tourism wants to take you out to the ballgame! The West Volusia Tourism Advertising Authority is hosting a night to watch the Daytona Tortugas take on the Jupiter Hammerheads of Miami.

The West Volusia National Travel & Tourism Night will be held at Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach on Friday, May 6. John B. Stetson, Stetson University Athletics’ mascot, will throw out the first pitch, and WVTAA and Stetson will have information tables set up, as well as a portable “Wings of the West” for guests to get great photos and selfies.

The point of the partnership with the Daytona Tortugas is to focus awareness on West Volusia’s many attractions.

“Many times, people live in an area but get so wrapped up in their day-to-day lives that they have no idea of the adventures awaiting them right around the corner,” said Georgia Turner, executive director of WVTAA. “West Volusia County is a treasure-trove of fun experiences allowing you and the whole family to get away and play.”

Tickets for the special West Volusia section and food and drink packages are limited. Buy them now online at www.fevo.com/edp/Daytona-Tortugas-vs-Jupiter-Hammerheads–Visit-West-Volusia-Night-XutFhfkJ before they are gone. The first pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

Conveniently located between Orlando and Daytona Beach, West Volusia offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy parks, pristine natural beauty, historic homes like Stetson Mansion, a vibrant downtown, and award-winning restaurants within 14 distinct communities.

Visitors can also enjoy Downtown DeLand — voted America’s BEST Mainstreet — and its many delectable restaurants, or, for a bit more adventure, head out on the St. Johns River or explore Blue Spring State Park. These are just a few of the many natural, cultural and historical area attractions you will find when visiting West Volusia.

The West Volusia Tourism Advertising Authority’s mission is to develop and support marketing and advertising programs that bring increased tourism to West Volusia, and to demonstrate the desirability of West Volusia as a tourism destination.

The Authority works with area hoteliers, tour providers, attractions and event promoters, to represent the area to vacationers, tour operators, travel and meeting planners, and the media.
