The City of DeLand will hold a special meeting Wednesday, Aug. 3, to show off the latest designs for plans to fix up two blocks of West Voorhis Avenue.
Residents had mixed feelings about the last set of plans for the Voorhis Avenue streetscape project. The latest plans, which will be presented by city staff and representatives from engineering and design firm CPH, will incorporate recent public feedback.
The Downtown DeLand Community Redevelopment Agency took on the Voorhis Avenue streetscape project after it was selected by residents as part of a 2021 community survey for how to spend reserve funds. The project is expected to improve two blocks of West Voorhis Avenue — from South Woodland Boulevard to South Clara Avenue.
The special meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, in the City Commission Chambers in DeLand City Hall, 120 S. Florida Ave.
