Downtown DeLand’s The Table Restaurant has new owners.

Melisa Reed, who launched The Table five-and-a-half years ago at 100 E. New York Ave., closed Aug. 22 on a sale of the business to Jessee and Heidi Quinn.

The sale price was not disclosed by the parties. Florida Business Exchange facilitated the sale.

The Quinns relocated earlier this month to DeLand from Palmer, Alaska, where they owned a coffee shop. They had been scouring Florida, they said, for just the right business opportunity to complement their family lifestyle and help them escape the severity of Alaskan winters.

“And all of a sudden we’re here,” Jessee Quinn said. “ Everything happened really fast.”

The Quinns have extensive restaurant experience. Jessee Quinn started work at age 13 in a Quiznos sandwich shop, and Heidi Quinn had her first coffee-shop job at age 17.

The Quinns said they do not plan major changes to The Table menu or operation. They also plan to keep all 48 employees.

This story will be updated. Stay tuned to The Beacon for more about the change of ownership at The Table.
