Deltona has renewed its contract for an extra measure of influence in the Florida Legislature.

The City Commission has approved a new three-year agreement with Georgia McKeown & Associates LLC to persuade state lawmakers to act in support of the municipal government, including securing grant funding for city projects. The firm, which has offices in Daytona Beach and Tallahassee, has been Deltona’s state lobbyist since 2016.

Deltona’s new contract with McKeown also provides for two successive one-year extensions, subject to mutual agreement. Deltona will pay McKeown & Associates $45,000 per year for the firm’s services in the state capital.

McKeown boasts “over 35 years experience in the government consulting arena in Florida’s legislative and executive branches,” along with “the right relationships, the strongest passion and a track record of proven results.”

The McKeown firm also lobbies for the City of Oak Hill, along with the American Cancer Society and Boehringer-Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals Inc.
