Supervisor of Elections Lisa Lewis released the following statement regarding the General Election on Tuesday, November 8, 2022:

“The deadline to register to vote or update your party affiliation for the General Election is November 8th,” Lewis said. “Voters who are unsure of their registration status can visit www.VolusiaElections.gov or call the Supervisor of Elections office.

Anyone can register and drop off a voter registration application at any public library, by close of business hours on October 11, 2022. Also, applications sent by mail and post-marked by October 11 will be accepted. Office hours will be 8 a.m.–7 p.m. on Tuesday October 11.”

Voters have several options to exercise their right to vote – voting by mail (formerly known as absentee), early voting, or voting at the polls on Election Day. Voters are encouraged to double check their voter registration information, update their signature, and be aware of the following deadlines in advance of the General Election on Tuesday, November 8:

— Individuals not registered to vote in the State of Florida must submit a completed voter registration application by Tuesday October 11, to participate in the General Election.

— Voters can check their voter registration status, vote by mail status, polling place, and sample ballot by accessing the website at www.VolusiaElections.gov.

Vote by Mail Ballots: On October 5th, the initial run of over 142,000 vote by mail ballots were placed in the mail. Requests for vote by mail ballots may be made in person, by phone, or mail (email, online, fax). Deadline to request a ballot to be mailed for the General is 5 pm, October 29, 2022. It is important to have an updated signature on file. This enables the office to validate your signature on your vote-by-mail ballot.

Contact information requested on the vote by mail envelopes is optional. The Legislature added this in statute in the event we may need to contact the voter.

Early Voting: Voters may vote early beginning October 26th and each day after through November 5th. Hours are 8am – 6 pm each day.
