To assist with recovery after Hurricane Ian, the Florida Department of Children and Families is offering food assistance through the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or D-SNAP. Sign-ups have been available online, but this weekend, from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, through Monday, Nov. 7, people will be able to apply in-person at the Ocean Center, 101 N. Atlantic Ave. in Daytona Beach.

D-SNAP is available to people who lost food, suffered a loss to their income or damage to their home due to Hurricane Ian. To be eligible for D-SNAP, you must meet a financial eligibility requirement and not already receive monthly aid from the SNAP program.

While walk-ins at the Ocean Center site are available, people are encouraged to complete pre-registration online at www.myflfamilies.com/dsnap before going in-person. Online pre-registration will begin Saturday, Nov. 5.
