While much of the world has returned to a pre-pandemic state of normal, COVID-19 hasn’t been completely wiped out. According to data released every two weeks by the Florida Department of Health, Volusia County reported 409 new cases of the virus between Nov. 25 and Dec. 1. In that same period, the state reported 36 individuals aged 6 months or older received a COVID-19 vaccination.
In total, 360,672, or 63 percent, of Volusia County’s population of 571,181 people have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
