Motorists should be aware of an upcoming closure at the Fort Florida Road railroad crossing near the DeBary SunRail Station from Monday, May 8, at 6 a.m. to Tuesday, May 16, at 6 a.m. This closure is required for maintenance along the SunRail corridor.
The following detours will be in place to guide motorists around the work zone:
- Motorists heading northbound on U.S. 17 wishing to turn on Fort Florida Road will be directed to turn left on Barwick Road and follow the detour signs to Fort Florida Road.
- Motorists heading southbound on U.S. 17 wishing to turn on Fort Florida Road will be directed to turn right on Barwick Road and follow the detour signs to Fort Florida Road.
- Motorist traveling eastbound on Fort Florida Road toward U.S. 17 will be directed to turn right on Barwick Road and continue until they reach U.S. 17.
Please remember to exercise caution around trains and railroad crossings by keeping off the tracks and obeying all signs and signals. Be smart. Be safe.
