DeLand Pride held their annual Pride Pageant June 1, the first day of Pride Month, at the Athens Theater in DeLand. Ten contestants vied for the titles of Miss, Mister or Mx DeLand Pride in four categories: creative costume, formal wear, question and answer, and talent. The winners will represent DeLand at events around the state for the next year.
Judges included local business owners and community leaders, as well as former winners, who continue to participate in events as part of DeLand Pride’s royal court.
Nearly three hundred people attended the event, with proceeds going to fund future pride events throughout the year.
