A little after 12 noon, a DeLand Police officer on routine patrol saw a gentleman in his 60s unzip his pants, expose himself, and begin to urinate on or near a business.

The officer noted that the fellow “continued to use the bathroom while talking to [the lawman].”

He told the Public Pee-er that “he is not supposed to expose himself in a public area,” to which the man replied, “Yes I know they didn’t have a bathroom and I had to pee.”

So Public Pee-er was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure – exposure of sexual organs first offense. He was put in handcuffs, taken to a holding cell at the DeLand Police Department, and then transported to jail.

Maybe the City of DeLand should put out port-a-potties at numerous locations so, when nature calls, people can answer in private.
