Update (4/2/24): The victim has been identified as Giulianno Scotti, of Brazil (DOB: 11/09/81).
The preliminary investigation revealed two skydivers collided mid-air. The body of the victim was located in the 1600 block of Lexington Avenue. Responding units attempted life-saving measures but the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
The second skydiver was treated on scene by first responders for minor injuries.
The victim’s body has been turned over to the Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office, which will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

One person was killed following what appears to be a skydiving accident.
Officers responded to the DeLand Municipal Airport at 2:26 p.m. Monday after a male skydiver suffered a hard landing. The male, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced deceased on scene.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
