SOAR AND CELEBRATE — From left, Kelly Walker, her daughter Kiley Wannick and mother Pat Rabey celebrate a birthday jump for Walker. On April 20, Walker took to the skies over DeLand for the first time to celebrate her 50th birthday — a tradition Rabey began on her own 50th birthday. This marks the second, lifetime jump for Rabey and a 28th jump for Wannick, as three generations of women enjoy a unique family tradition.

On April 20, three generations of women took to the skies for a very special family tradition. Kiley Wannick, her mother Kelly Walker, and grandmother Pat Rabey went skydiving in celebration of Walker’s 50th birthday.

Rabey joined her daughter and granddaughter, making this her second lifetime jump. The first time Rabey went skydiving was in celebration of her 50th birthday — making Walker’s birthday jump all the more meaningful.

Wannick spoke highly of her mom and grandmother’s adventurous spirits. “At the age of 76, [my grandma] is still willing to jump out of an airplane. Don’t limit yourself, do whatever you want. Life is what you make it,” Wannick said.

“If my grandma can do it, anybody else can conquer their fears and do it. If it’s something that entices you, try it. Go do a tandem, or go out there and just watch. This is your one life that you get to live, and if you have any kind of inclination to go and jump, do it.”
