Hurricane Preparedness Seminar

The speakers include Chief Meteorologist Bryan Karrick with Spectrum News 13, and representatives from the City of Deltona Building Department, the Deltona Fire Department and the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office. Karrick will address how hurricanes and other severe weather systems are formed, and how residents in Central Florida should prepare. Seminar attendees will also learn how to protect their property, houses, sheds and utility services, and how to get the critical information needed in the aftermath of the storm, concerning the repair of damaged property. A hurricane survival kit filled with emergency care items will be on display. The kit will show residents what items are recommended to have on hand, in the aftermath of severe weather. Free.
