Take a trip with Brian Polk and follow the footsteps of the original Mayaca people; then travel to 1982 when DeLeon Springs State Park opened. The spring has attracted and fascinated people for more than 6,000 years. It has been the area’s lifeblood — providing drinking water, a rich food source, access to waterways, a mill and electrical power, health and economic benefits, and recreation. Light refreshments, including lemonade, will be served. Free. Call 386-668-3840, or email to lperez@volusia.org.
