Volusia County Animal Services received a tip of potential animal neglect at a home on Lake Ashby Road, New Smyrna Beach. Initial inspection determined there was sufficient concern to launch an investigation.

The resident surrendered 16 cats of various ages. The cats are being cared for at Volusia County Animal Services, 1250 Indian Lake Road, Daytona Beach.

Volusia County Animal Services is seeking the public’s help with introduction of the cats to new homes through fee-waived adoption or fostering.

Animal Control officers urge anyone who has information about animal cruelty or neglect to report it by calling 386-248-1790.
