Update: Diana Rodriguez and her baby, Daniela, have been located safe and in good condition in Maryland. The Florida Department of Children and Families is working in conjunction with authorities in Maryland to return them home and provide services to the family.
Thanks to the public and news media for spreading the word, and to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Deltona Detectives Unit for their hard work on this case.
Volusia Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 15-year-old girl from Deltona who is believed to have run away from home, taking her 11-month-old daughter with her.
The family of Diana Rodriguez discovered her and her daughter Daniela missing from their home on Normandy Boulevard, Deltona, last Monday (Sept. 30), before school. It appeared she left through her bedroom window.
Her family believed she ran away because her cell phone was recently taken away.
Since then, sheriff’s deputies have been working along with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to locate Diana and Daniela and ensure their safety and well-being.
Diana is described as a Hispanic female, 4’10” to 5’ tall and about 120 pounds. A photo of Diana and Daniela is attached.
Anyone who sees them or has any information about their whereabouts is asked to call 911.
