This is the perfect Halloween date.

Phantasmagoria, a group Good Day Atlanta has called one of the country’s “most unique theater troupes,” brings their latest full-length mainstage Gothic horror performance “Dark Carnival” to the historic Athens Theatre in DeLand Friday and Saturday, Oct. 22 and 23.

Phantasmagoria XII’s return to the Athens will send chills and thrills down the spines of Athens audiences, with tales that range from Edgar Allan Poe to French vampire tales, and from ancient mythological creatures to all-new terror tales.

Explosive stage combat, “phantastical” dancing, puppetry and mesmerizing stories will complete the dark thrills of a perfect Halloween’s “Dark Carnival.”

See you there … if you dare … to share with us the ultimate Halloween scare!

The historic Athens Theatre is at 124 N. Florida Ave. in Downtown DeLand.

“Dark Carnival” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, and Saturday, Oct. 23.
