An employee of a discount chain store in DeLand said a fellow came in Sept. 1 and attempted to buy these tobacco products: “a White Owl cigarillo, a Swisher regular cigarillo, a Game [R]ed cigarillo and two cartons of Newport menthols.”

Apparently he likes the pricey stuff: The total value of the products was $178.68.

The guy attempted to pay for his smokes with a debit/ credit card, but he submitted an incorrect PIN, and therefore the transaction was rejected.

The smoker then picked up all the products, ran outside, got on a silver bike, and headed south.

Talk about a severe addiction to tobacco!

No word on whether a DeLand police officer and the store employee who witnessed the whole thing were able to ID the shoplifter using the store’s surveillance footage.
