Re: “Pierson may OK alcohol sales on Sundays” in the June 9-15 Beacon:

Pierson may be the only community in West Volusia to have alcohol-sale prohibition on Sundays, but dry Sundays are the “uniqueness” to our community.

If I may correct part of the article, Mohammad Hasan is not a resident of Pierson; he lives in south DeLand. He owns a small convenience store in Pierson that will prosper if the ordinance passes.

Nay or yay, hopefully the people will have a say! Too late to put it on the November ballot for people to vote on.
