Chicken in nest with eggs isolated on white

A mother called the DeLand Police after she heard her 23-year-old son and his girlfriend quarreling. Mom told the officers the sounds indicated that the argument had escalated to physical conflict.

Worried Mom also told them that “she is concerned for [her son] due to his addiction to ‘hardcore drugs.’”

One of the officers put Hardcore Son in handcuffs because Girlfriend said he threw a wet piece of chicken on her. Another officer “did observe pieces of chicken which appeared to be on [Girlfriend’s] hair and clothing.” (That’s not what a young woman wants to receive from her boyfriend.)

Girlfriend said Hardcore Son “threw a can of chunked chicken” at her and that he also hit her with an “open hand in her face.”

When police searched him, they found two bottles of pills in his clothes. Turns out they were prescribed to Worried Mom.

Officers also located a bag of baking powder in one of his pockets. “When asked why he had a bag of baking powder, [Hardcore Son] stated that he is addicted to crack cocaine, and the baking powder was so that he could make crack.” (Was he trying to get arrested? He should have said he planned to use the baking powder to cook the chicken.)

More searching of Hardcore Son turned up “a small cellophane bag that contained a white substance,” which he said was crack. And another bottle of pills was found in his van, as was “a small clear plastic baggie that contained a white powdery substance.”

Plus some drug paraphernalia and more white powder.

The white substance tested presumptive positive for cocaine.

Worried Mom and Girlfriend conversed a bit in front of the police officers. Girlfriend said Hardcore Son “had slapped her open handed two days ago,” and on the present day, “he struck her in a back hand fashion.” And, she said, “she was naked under the coat that she was wearing, due to her clothes being saturated with chicken oil.” (And yet, it was Worried Mom not Girlfriend who called the police.)

Mom said “she would not put up with her son … being abusive, as she had previously gone through that, and he often scares her when he loses control while mad at her.” And she told police Hardcore Son did not have her permission to have her pills.

Mom said her son “has a drug problem, and an anger problem, and she would like to see him in a program to help him with those issues, or to just stay in jail, because he scares her.”

So Hardcore Son was arrested on a number of charges, including battery, possession of controlled substances without a prescription, grand theft of a controlled substance, and possession and/or use of drug equipment.

Maybe he’s been placed in one of those helpful rehab programs his mom talked about — or maybe he’s just locked up in jail.
