Slippery When Wet, a tribute to Bon Jovi, is set to ignite the stage at the Athens Theatre in DeLand at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, for an electrifying journey through rock ’n’ roll history.

Hailing from the heart of New Jersey, Jon Bon Jovi and his bandmates have been delivering hit after hit since the 1980s, captivating audiences with their infectious energy and anthemic melodies. From the iconic “Livin’ on a Prayer” to the timeless “Wanted Dead or Alive,” Bon Jovi’s music has left an indelible mark on the world of rock.

Jon Bon Jovi, born John Francis Bongiovi Jr., discovered his love for music at an early age. In the 1980s, Bon Jovi’s dreams began to take shape as he formed the band that would bear his name. Bongiovi and guitarist Richie Sambora, keyboardist David Bryan, bassist Alec John Such and drummer Tico Torres set out to make their mark on the world of rock ‘n’ roll.

Their breakthrough came with the release of Slippery When Wet in 1986, which quickly became one of the best-selling albums of the decade. Featuring smash hits like “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin’ on a Prayer,” the album solidified Bon Jovi’s status as rock icons.

But their success didn’t stop there. Throughout the years, Bon Jovi has continued to dominate the charts with albums like New Jersey, Crush, Keep the Faith and These Days. Their music resonates with audiences around the world, and has earned them legions of devoted fans and countless accolades.

In 2018, Bon Jovi was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, cementing their place in music history. Even after four decades in the spotlight, they show no signs of slowing down. Their most recent album, Forever, is set to be released this summer on June 7!

So, grab your air guitar, put on your leather jacket, tease that hair, and get ready to rock out like never before during a night of music, memories, and an infusion of pure musical adrenaline.
