Community members gathered for a meaningful cause at a May 19 Foundations to Freedom GLOW Fashion Show — held at the Museum of Art – DeLand located at 600 N. Woodland Blvd.

GLOW stands for “Gorgeous Ladies of Worth,” and on the evening of May 19, the museum’s auditorium was filled with attendees who were present to honor and support survivors of domestic violence and individuals who are in recovery from addiction.

Guests enjoyed live music in the entrance of the museum, a spoken-word presentation by Dr. Rajni ShankarBrown, drawings for door prizes, and a joyful presentation of fashions provided by local DeLand shops such as Lace & Accessories, Ms. Preppy Pants, and Nancy’s Vintage and Retro. Dr. Shankar-Brown recited an original spoken-word presentation, aptly titled “Glow On, On, Onward,” and the crowd cheered on community members of all ages as they took to the catwalk for a good cause.
